Aditi Rao Hydari: A Real Life Royal Princess Belonging to the Hydari Family

Aditi Rao Hydari who has always been known for her grace and elegance in Indian cinema has a lot more to offer than just her Bollywood credentials. Born on October 28 to Ahsan Hydari and Vidya Rao, Aditi has a lineage that traces back to the courts of Hyderabad. The actress has remarkably created a special place in everyone’s heart by giving captivating performance in various movies and shows, thus effectively building a successful career spanning over a decade. Yet, behind all the spotlights and camera flashes lies her story of a royal heritage that adds a special dimension to her identity.

Born into two royal bloodlines, Aditi's life is an interesting blend of cinematic glamour and regal historical background. Her father belonged to the very popular Hydari family, who were once prominent figures in the princely state of Hyderabad and her paternal great-grandfather, Sir Akbar Hydari, was the former Prime Minister of Hyderabad state from 1869 to 1941. He served as a nobleman as he was also involved in many administrative and social initiatives during his time. The Hydari family has historical ties to the Nizam of Hyderabad, adding to Aditi's rich cultural heritage.

Her mother is a well-known singer of Hindustani classical music, and her maternal lineage is even more directly connected to royalty as her maternal great grandfather, J. Rameshwar Rao, was the last ruling Raja/King of Wanaparthy. He was one of the wealthiest and most powerful rulers in pre-independent India. This connection adds to the rich cultural heritage, blending artistic talent and royal lineage which plays a significant role in shaping Aditi’s life as an artistic and a distinguished actor.

Her upbringing was significantly shaped by her family’s royal background. She grew in a culturally rich environment as she was surrounded by cultural influences like her mother’s passion for classical singing which arouse her interest in art and culture. Aditi became a disciple of renowned dancer Leela Samson as she began learning Bharatanatyam at the age of six. She completed her schooling from Rishi Valley School in Andhra Pradesh and her graduation from Lady Sri Ram College for Women. Apart from academics, Aditi’s cultural background has helped her grow as a person and realize her love for art.
